We are excited to share that i-SENS has received official approval from the Ministry of Food and Drug Safety in Korea for an upgraded version of our continuous glucose monitoring (CGM) system, CareSens® Air. The improved version offers significantly enhanced performance and is designed to make daily use even more convenient for users.
Since launching CareSens Air—The first CGM manufactured in Korea—in September 2023, we’ve been listening closely to customer feedback and working on a major upgrade over the past year and a half. The updated version was approved just four months after we submitted the application in September 2024.
One of the biggest updates? It no longer requires calibration. Previously, users had to manually measure their blood glucose and enter it into the app for a certain time during the initial phase of use. Many found this process inconvenient especially since the sensor needs to be replaced every two weeks. Now, the upgrade removes that step entirely, aligning us with leading global standards.
Still, if users ever feel the readings are outside their usual range, they can easily check and adjust with a fingertip blood test. We’ve also shortened the sensor’s initial warm-up time from two hours to just 30 minutes and improved overall accuracy—making the system more user-friendly and reliable.
The upgraded CareSens Air will be available to Korean users starting March 2025. Simply update the CareSens Air app in the app store to access the new features right away.
We have also submitted an application for CE certification updates in August 2024 and are currently awaiting approval. In 2024 alone, CareSens Air successfully launched in 14 countries, including Hungary, Germany, UK, Chile, and the Netherlands. This year, we plan to expand into even more markets as we continue to grow our global presence.
