Global biosensor company i-SENS, Inc. announced the global launch of its CareSens Air Receiver, a dedicated display device for its continuous glucose monitoring (CGM) system, CareSens Air. The product will be introduced sequentially across major European markets beginning October 31.
The CareSens Air Receiver is a dedicated device that displays glucose data transmitted from the CGM sensor, serving as an alternative to smartphones. It is an essential device for users with limited digital accessibility — including the elderly, children, and patients who prefer a standalone monitoring device.
This launch marks a significant milestone for i-SENS, as introducing the receiver satisfies a key requirement for insurance reimbursement and public tender eligibility across Europe. The receiver will enable entry into national health systems in countries such as Germany and the Netherlands, where receiver ownership is mandatory for reimbursement, and in markets such as Italy, Finland, and Spain, where it is required for public tender participation.
i-SENS will begin the rollout in Finland, Italy, Germany, and the United Kingdom, followed by the Netherlands, Belgium, and Spain in November, and will expand to Poland thereafter.
An i-SENS representative stated, “The CareSens Air Receiver enhances accessibility for patients who are less familiar with smartphone use while playing a strategic role in meeting insurance and tender requirements across Europe. It marks a significant step forward in improving CGM accessibility and reinforcing our ties with the global insurance market.”
Following the successful launch of CareSens Air in 14 countries in 2024, i-SENS plans to expand to over 30 countries by the end of this year. The company has already secured insurance reimbursement in six countries, including Korea, reinforcing its position in the European market.
As of the first half of 2025, i-SENS recorded KRW 6.7 billion in CGM sales (88% increase year-on-year), surpassing its total 2024 annual revenue of KRW 6.0 billion. With the completion of its automated production line at the Incheon Songdo Plant 2, the company has secured a production capacity of two million units per year, establishing a robust supply framework for global expansion.
CEO Hak-Hyun Nam commented, “With the launch of the CareSens Air Receiver, i-SENS has solidified its foundation for insurance and tender access in Europe. Our next CGM model, CareSens Air 2, is progressing on schedule, with regulatory approval plans spanning Korea and Europe by 2027, followed by the United States in 2028. We aim to capture 10% of the global CGM market share by the 2030s, advancing toward our vision of becoming one of the world’s top three CGM companies.”
